Solo piano. Greene shows off plenty of tuneful sensibility in the compositions; the result is lots of classical drama mixed with expert avant-garde splashes a la Cecil Taylor. His playing is robust, with strong, confident notes and strong accents. There's also the occasional playful touch (see the -2:15 mark of #1). His avant-garde chops really show through on #3.

Greene is an American who was part of the free-jazz thing in the '60s but has lived in Amsterdam since then. He hasn't been recording frequently, so this disk is a nice rare treat.

- A spritely fast recital, chipper but with a polished classical/jazz feel
- Gentle. Very quiet middle; strong peaceful melody in 2nd half
- Fast and sometimes crashing. Starts with happy off-balance theme.
- Cartoonish, a bit goofy
- Big, grand, mid/slow. With a playful stacatto segment followed by slow splashy playing
- Minor key, big ballroom feel, very melodic
- Fast, skittish, strongly played
- Elegant and dramatic; slow and loud
