(Pronounced keem-bhom-bo.) Cuban son music from this New York-based band. It’s good stuff, folks. Great vocals, clear, sharp horns, sexy percussion, everything this music should be. It’s dance music made for sultry nights, and you can’t go wrong with any track. Quimbombo, by the way, means “okra” in Spanish. *1. Bright, swaying, sexy, infectious. 2. Crisp horns, warm vocals, persuasive percussion. *3. Great trumpet work highlight this nicely energetic dance. 4. Delicious bolero-son w/a lush, tropical feel. 5. Flute/trumpet/vox/perc.
