Paranoids "The Party's Over" - Cute fun pop from San Francisco (or somewhere in the bay area). The guitars, bass, and drums are all very basic, but in a really good way. It's a nice tight band that can rock out at times and still have a lot of great pop hooks. The vocal layerings and harmonies are really nice, although the lead vocals often sound oddly British. Almost every track has at least one bad word in it, but they are often hard to hear clearly. This was really fun simple pop rock. Definitely recommended.
My Picks: 1(fcc), 3
Katie P. 7/19/04

1) Bouncy midtempo. Basic guitar chords and fun vocal layers with great lyrics like "we buy records that you've never heard of, and that makes us cooler then you." Cute "bah-bah" backups. Nice guitar solo. Fcc: says "fucking" but it's not too obvious.
2) Faster midtempo with a cute bouncy feel. Nice warm fuzzy guitars and a cute simple guitar solo. Fcc: says "asshole."
3) Uptempo with a fun happy feel. Again, a little bouncy. Nice vocal harmonies. Very catchy chorus.
4) Faster midtempo power chords. Basic straight forward driving beat. Nice vocal harmonies. Fcc: says "fucking" but again it's not too obvious.
5) Driving fast midtempo. Heavier rock guitars. This one feels more rock than pop. Fcc: says "fuck"
