Messy, noisy swamp glam rock, fuck yeah! This is a greatest hits culled from 5 concept albums about pillars of soul Melvin Van Peebles, Albert Ayler, Patty Hearst, Marc Bolan & Yoko Ono. Androgynous glam vocals (it’s a man, baby!) over bluesy rock n roll.. maybe the bastard child of Bolan and Ono fronting the JSBX ? This set features mostly straight up rockers, but there’s a few trippy cultish chants thrown in to round it out. The best part is that this isn’t some hipster put-on (though it does seem that way at first).. don’t miss the history in the liner notes. A few FCCs scattered around, but they’re quick and fairly easy to cut out.
