Adventurous sax, improvisor and composer is surveyed in his diverse styles. Worked with PsychFurs, STones, Robert Wyatt(on here), NRBQ... Spans fusion, free, rocknroll,polyrhythm, groove. Many unreleased tracks. 1) humourous start speech about jams, becomes bass/clarinet roundabout. *2) busy polyrhythm to fast freekout, free, schmaltz. fusion guitar, short drum solo 3)sheets of sound fast&free, part is slow, tricky end 4) free squeeler - pig slaughter - then spacy echo voices - pigs revenge 5) groove with tasty zaniness, like Take 5 - confusing start, abrupt end 6) slow quiet duet, wistful *7) R&B/blues some simple voice, toe tapper 8) piano lowdown vamp, repeating figure, minimalist interlude *9) free not frantic, fades slowly **10) nice melody becomes free, goes soft drum,melody returns, lovely sax work 11) rocknroll, unusual setting 12) samba w/fluttering sax 13) quiet freejazz builds to brief rockout *14) rocknrolled w/ bluesy sax, then thoughtful solo Gary | ||
