A modern prog album from veterans of the Canterbury scene. Much of the album has a mellow laid back feel, rather than the blazing intensity that makes stuff like this interesting.. maybe call this “Lounge Prog”. The solos occasionally have some bite and that’s what makes the recommended tracks listenable – play the others at your own risk. The last two tracks dump the cheesy synths for a more classic 70s sound, definitely start there.
*1. Quiet tense start, builds as the solos start
*2. Med tempo funky
3. Happy major key romp
4. Cheesy ballad
5. Relaxed med tempo
6. Wandering solos over boring melody
7. Flaccid and bland
*8. Classic prog - driving off-kilter rhythm (20 sec of intro chatting)
**9. Dark and funky, now that’s more like it!
