Album Review
Mor
Reviewed 2004-07-21
Indie pop/rock, Tim Buckley mixed with Coldplay and late Radiohead. Trembling male vocals; clear, slightly distorted, dominant guitars. Well produced -– maybe too good at some points, all tracks are longish at least 5 minutes or so. Lyrics are obscure. Try track 1, 6, 8 and you’ll get the idea.

1. * Powerful ballad, slow/mid tempo.*
2. Slow, Radiohead-y (layered sound effects, Thom York-like vox).
3. Slow, low key, less dense; but a subtle built up to the end.
4. Slow intro falls into mid/fast new wave track. I wish there was a trumpet on this track. Instead, it ends with guitar solo.
5. Slow, singing synched with slow guitar strumming/picking, louder on chorus, mid/fast tempo finish (last minute)
6. * Mid/fast tempo, driving quiet beat and gentle strumming, repeating flings of loudness. Same dramatic vox.*
7. Slow/mid with touches of keyboard.
8. * Longer [8:10], quiet, slow, more subtle vox. Pump organ background, the guitar strums and picks leisurely.*
