This is an excellent mix of spoken word of basic observations and stories with a lot of nice minimal guitar, bass and percussion (sometimes bordering on jazz in some places).
I guess you could call this “indie-noir”. This group features members of Tarnation and Broken Horse, plus the guitarist Joe Goldring - who’s worked with June of ‘44, Swans & Steve Von TIll, Kevin Thompson is ex-Timco/Nice Strong Arm.

((((1)))) Awesome, slow Slint-like number about the early hours in S.F. FCC “motherfuckers” @ 2:01) and has various bursting cresndos.
((((2)))) Amazing guitar work and overall structure. Another story about the Mission District with some rolling bass line. (FCC 2:00-01 “Smashing the fucker”).
((((3)))) Very descripitive & narrative, like an audio movie underscored with wonderful layers of guitar and slow twangy bits.
((((4)))) Very slow, with hand plucked guitar notes, and the “go to loud” cue is the word “thunder”. Gotta love it! Overall this pretty slow and quiet aside from that one sudden volume jump. (7:04 FCC “fuck”)
(((((5))))) A tale of an Italian cook with some trippy slow, etheral, psychedelic & slooow western twang elements.
((((6)))) Nice click-track drumming, and a very interesting style like Slint’s “Breadcrumb Trail” except these vocals are much more understandable.
((((7)))) Sounds almost like a Shellac riff but it stays in place for the most part. Sounds like beat poetry meets loud & twangy indie rock. Like Keuoac meets Shellac ?
((((8)))) More loud guitars and this time it starts off kind of doomy but them quiickly quiets down into a jazzy, slow jangle and goes back & forth with the loud n’ quiet thing. Really interesting, almost droning and descending guitar chords (FCC “fuck” 2:18)
((((9)))) Sounds like tape hiss and soft strumming ‘ala Bedhead/The New Year, Veltvets, & Galaxy 500. Great slide guitar workm & harmonic notes, too. Jazzy, western twang in slow motion & poetic/prose-like.
