Kush Arora – Underwater Jihad

Indian influenced chill electronica. Shades of Amon Tobin with a lot of clanking metal and industrial static, but there’s definitely a tendency to go overboard on the samples here. The disc has some highlights (check out the Indian dancehall track - #7), but the overall sound is pretty inconsistent.

*1. Screwed bhangra, slow tribal beats & electronics
2. Trance-like with plenty of samples. Gets into a bit of groove later
3. Electronic washes of sound with segue to next track
*4. Med tempo chill beat
5. Slow Indian singing
*6. Slow plucking with staticy sound effects
**7. Indian Ragga (not raga!), nice.
8. nice chill beat – FCC: samples say “fuck”
*9. Creepy chill electronics
10. 80s beat under chill electronics
11. Slow burbling electronics
*12. Slow electronics, almost pretty
*13. Nice Indian beat
14. Med tempo techno
