Harlem Zip Code: Colour World Soul Label: Red Melon Records Local SF-based label Red Melon released this really groovy CD - lots of disco, deep-house, some R&B flavors w/ a few slower tracks. These guys have done work on Paper Records and have a nice resume of house music work w/ some legendary DJs. I liked 2,3,6,7,9. 1. bumpin' funky house w/ some slick but understated rap/vox 2. energetic Latin-ized beats w/ mad drums & screams 3. groovy broken-beat disco-funk - nice one 4. slower disco w/ fem R&B vox and a funky bass & guitar 5. relaxed trip-hop track, vox samples 6. cheery cute house track w/ some neat little effects 7. disco-fied house - like them funky guitars 8. disco groove w/ vox by Corrina Joseph (of Basement Jaxx) 9. long smooth downtempo jazz w/ male vox - kinda nice | ||
