The concept: have musician pairs who also happen to be lovers compose tunes inspired by “Missed Connection” postings. The result often has a song-poem feel. Some really good NYC musicians here, including half of the talking heads (aka tom tom club) Chris Franz/Tina Weymouth who do a fun one. Pretty cool. +1.Guitar, quiet drum, M sings drawn-out w/F backing. sad slowcore, lost. +2.Lush pop, while the music is sincere the lyrics make me giggle 3.simple guitar thru direct, fem street folk musician vocals 4.kinda plodding- or is it fast slowcore? +5.Hep beatnik jazz song-poem, fun novelty 6.abstract w/jazzy fem vocal, like trip-hop with just 3 out of a 24 track mix +7.lol! parody of last 70’s technopop, guy sings seriously about monkeys while woman slams about needing to pee at the zoo. 8.Charming home recording, strummed guitar and discordant organ +9.lo-fi boom-box recording, DIY electric guitar and drum 10.not quite as lo-fi as 9, a little bluesy, not enough energy +11.pretty slow and quiet instrumental |
