Bobo, Willie – Le Descarga del Bobo

Side B is a cut (from a recent Verve compilation of classic Latin grooves) by Willie Bobo, all the way back from 1967. Side A is a recent remix by Louie Vega and Kenny Gonzalez (a.k.a. Masters at Work). Both sides are incredibly groovin’! Play Side A for a “new school” sound, play Side B for the old school sound.

Oh my good lord, if this vinyl doesn’t get you moving, then you’re a goddamn robot – and I hope your CPU breaks down, bitch.

Note: Both sides are at 33 rpm

**Side A (8:38)
Funky guitar over a strong house beat, bongos, and all types of clangy percussion. Fast, ultra jazzy sax joins the fray and it’s fucking party time!! Later, spacey ambience and sexy keys take the spotlight, then deep bass.

*Side B (5:46)
Same guitar riffs and blazing bongo/clangy percussion, but the entirely acoustic version makes it all slightly spicier (if not as “deep”). The waves of brass give the groove a dramatic atmosphere. Then one sax starts wailin’ away. Fades away abruptly.
