Parker / Schlippenbach / Lytton - America 2003

An excellent document of the trio’s tour around America last year. All tracks are nice, long explorations with sharply varying degrees of dynamics, though the improv is much more full and melodic rather than the English-style clatter that one might expect from this group.

Disc 1:
*1. Free flowing busy opener, but fades to quiet improv around (-5:30)
2. Mellow piano solo
3. Very quiet opening, gets gradually busier
4. Rolling, clattery start, eventually fades out
5. Sparse, squeaky start. followed by a long, slow build to repetitive bombardment
*6. Mellow start, gets wild pretty quickly!

Disc 2:
*1. Great 60s style free improv
2. Huge sax solo, lots of circular breathing
*3. Quiet loungey start, builds to piano/drums. Sax comes in for free for all at the end
4. Strong sax leads the charge, then quiet after 5 min or so
5. Playful start, gets angrier and builds to hard blowing sax
