COLL: Fabric Live 16 Adam Freeland is a breaks super-DJ, and I like his stuff. But the problem I have with this sampler is that the use of rap (sampled or otherwise) is totally unnecessary and adds a very cheesy element to this mix. It’s tired & macho & turns otherwise good solid breakbeat into cheesy booty-breaks. So, the only good stuff is 2 thru 4. 1. totally unnecessary rap loaded w/ FCC over otherwise cool breaks 2. edgy bass & tech-y drones & swirls 3. tribal-y breaks – bumpin’ energy 4. acid-tribal-funk – good solid druggy rave fare 5. cheesy synths on this one synth swirls & a background rap loop that’s again totally unnecessary | ||
