Indie pop / power pop group from Chicago. Sounds as happy and ebullient as their Dr. Seuss-ian name implies. Inspired by Pavement, Belle and Sebastian, the Kinks. -- Chuan-Mei 1. fun guitar strumming, emotional/raspy vocals toward end, mid-fast tempo (3:27) 2. bouncy, bright, very fast tempo (2:33) 3. * happy sing-along/clap-along sound, peels of piano and guitar, fast tempo (2:38) 4. introspective ballad, slow beginning then tempo picks up (3:58) 5. fun piano chords, fast tempo (3:35) 6. interesting (but slightly annoying) harpsichord interludes, fast tempo (2:03) 7. acoustic guitar, whinny vocals, slow tempo (3:15) 8. bouncy piano, base rounds out a fuller sound, mid-fast tempo (2:12) 9. more rock than pop: harsher guitar and bigger drumming, fast tempo (3:13) 10. emotional ballad, slow tempo (2:15) 11. exuberant drumming, fast tempo with slow beginning and end (2:07) 12. upbeat, positive lyrics, mid-fast tempo (3:25) 13. * rousing electric guitar, driving baseline, mid-fast tempo (4:15) (after 7:23 there’s more recording: a scratchy half-song) | ||
