Your Imaginary Friend Reviewed 2004-11-02 | ||
Experimental, chill, very organic ambient tones layered using varied sources, electro-acoustic in fashion, guitar, short-wave radio, found sounds, scrapes, klangs, reverb. Art-opening music until the last several tracks which delve into John Abercrombie’esque solo abstract guitar playing. 1) chill, with short-wave radio tones, electro treated sounds 2) first minute is very sparse, near dead-air, then organic scraping-like sounds appear with tones, after 8 minutes sparse guitar chords arise out of the blue, then a lush low drone ~10 min 3) starts very quiet, but then turns to disturbing screams and feedback after ~30 seconds 4) very sparse 5-6) sparse treated guitar playing 7) space jazz guitar stylings a la John Abercrombie but weirder 8-9) abstract guitar noodling |
