Tigris & Euphrates

Named after the two rivers of Baghdad, this local band does quiet, reflective post rock arrangements. All instrumental. This is absolutely beautiful stuff, all three tracks, all across. Check out the track names, somewhat political. The cover photo is of a bombed Baghdad. You can just imagine the horrific tranquility of slow-motion film of the bombing with this album as soundtrack.

1. [7:53] Starts slow and quiet, bass picks it up few minutes in and at once it gets louder, distorted, but still laid back and meditative. [is the title in any way connected to Vietnam’s "the concrete is always grayer on the other side of the street" EP?]
2. [10:51] Starts with airy acoustic, dark backdrop. A beat added, and an electric guitar motif repeats. Then beat is dropped, guitar starts exploring, becoming slower and more relaxing.
3. [17:32] dark bow action for the first 4 mins. Then becomes heavier, more distorted, percussion pick up; changes again after climax. Heartbreaking entrance by the acoustic guitar. The next part has acoustic accompany electric guitar wailing subtly and a bow, with relaxed percussion. Louder finish, cool!
