A solo album from Chris Thile. Thile -- best known for his mandolin-playing -- has written, arranged, and performed all the music on this album. He plays over 25 different instruments, in a blend of musical styles and genres that is clearly a departure from his work (though he reveals his bluegrass roots). It's a shimmering acoustic palette (though some may claim too fragmentary) -- I love all the songs!

**1. Piano, violin, guitar ballad about illicit love. (2:36)
*2. An apologetic love song. (3:51)
*3. An interesting combination of strings and a strong groove/beat. (2:43)
*4. Quiet instrumental mandolin. (3:02)
*5. Upbeat rock, with interesting acoustic interludes. (2:55)
**6. Intimate, melancholy vocals. Layered, aching ballad. (5:53)
**7. Fast-past, luminous instrumental mandolin. (1:54)
*8. Uptempo rock, bullet-like drumming. (2:33)
*9. Moody piano. Moves from sparse to full. (3:26)
*10. Wistful, emotional vocals with sparse mandolin. (5:16)
