Two beautiful compositions in Raag Behag by the greatest exponent of the thumri (a genre of Hindustani vocal music). Khan's voice is stuff legend is made of, and his performance of this plaintive, tender raga is exquisite and heartwarming. 5 stars.
Track 1: Slow, meditative exploration of the melodic structure of the raga. Khan's vocals are backed up by his son (vox) and the sarangi player in a laid-back, soothing rendition.
Track 2: Slow tempo song that expresses the feelings of a lovesick maiden.
