Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2004-11-23
Wow! After Le Tigre completely sold out, Peaches bought into her own hype, “electroclash” has become a dirty word. Thank god for bands like Cobra Killer and now Spalding Rockwell, keeping the faithful full of electro new wavey rock. This female duo presents dancy, funky, hip grinding, noisy, electro-rock with just enough nod to “whatever-it-is” that the word “electroclash” so quickly maligned. Great stuff!!

1) upbeat driving electro poppy, straightforward
2) somewhat darker, but super cool beat
3) dark 80’s synth rock, excellent
4) upbeat, straight up elelctrodance rock, fucking great!
5) full on disco’ish electro
6) kick ass electrobeat, doesn’t rock any harder
7) upbeat, driving electro, slower
8) noisy dirtier electro, slower
9) slower, almost dub rap voc delivery, cool and smooth delivery
10) upbeat dancy rock, driven
11) midpaced, more of a goth/dance feel
12) slightly experimental w/ phone message samples and efx, chill electro
