This is a killer collection of all noise/experiemental artists from NYC. This jumps around from ambient to TG styled early industrial to total fuckin’ noise. Pretty much every track is worth your time
(((1))) Aero & Anderegg - Chiming, test-tone like sounds (some so high only small dogs can hear) with slow bass tones, a slow pot of tea boils in the background. Nice stuff.
((((2)))) Tuba Mirum - Droney tuba, yes tuba! Awesome brooding sounding stuff. Would work incredibly well with a movie or mixed into some ambience by Lustmord.
((3)) Spaceman - Weird & droney but more like listening to test tones they give at the doctor’s office.
(((4))) Beard-O - Odd & noisy, drones then has a decent size metallic (not heavy metal, just literal metal objects) crunch to it & some distorted bass noise.
((((5)))) Chuck Bettis & Toshio Kajiwara - Tripped out ambient noise, not too far from some of Non’s “nicer” sounding stuff with some video game-ish electronic “bleeps” and “blips” going about.
(((((6)))) Lucerne - Damn! This is fucking AWESOME. Haunting ambiences, etheral bits, and general low-occuring noise. Chalk up another “potential soundtrack piece”.
(((((7))))) Verbalala - Originally flavored industrial. Incredible mix of (early) Pain Teens, Throbbing Gristle and Siouxsie Sioux!
((((8)))) Chaw Mank - Heavy, ugly noise-fuzz. Bad trips on 3 sheets of brown acid, fer sure, dewd! Serious late-night freak-out sounds.
((((9)))) Cocaine (yep that’s their name!) - Strange, monster-dub, random creaking noises pretty damn close to Throbbing Gristle.
((10)) Squaw “Ouch” worthy noise. Gets a little annoying rather quick, unfortunately.
((((11)))) Tan As Fuck - Creepy, horror soundtrack-like, brooding, dwelling, somwhere out there sounds of echoed/prepared guitar and percussion. Great yet repetitive.
(((((12))))) Jah Division - Yah mon...Ian Curtis vibes...(not so) poseteeiv! This is a slow dub take and they even work some of the original tones of the keyboards and bass parts yet it’s still original!
