From the look of it pompadors, the band name you’d think straight-up psychobilly, right? Not quite. Like their labelmates the Slanderin’ the Hellbillys throw out punk, hardcore and even metal in their sound. Really fun, solid horror-punk that’s not another Misfits ripoff. Somewhere around New Bomb Turks, Zeke (minus the metal fix), early Rev. Horton Heat mixed with early Metallica (seriously!). The vocals sound like a modern version of Iggy or Lux Interior.
((((1)))) Fast, 4 note riff with “whoa-whoa” ‘ala Misfits.
(((((2))))) Simply redundant & fun thrash-a-billy.
(((3))) Straight-ahead psychobilly, lotsa twang.
((((4)))) Full throttle boogie struttin’mixed with the Stooges.
(((((5))))) Fast, punky, Stoogy, Misfitsy & speedy. Nice solo.
((((6))))) A cover song (but I dunno who it’s by), heavy guitar guitars, thudding action all ‘round.
((((7)))) Early Metallica/’Maiden with fast, punk n’ roll.
(((((8))))) Thrash metal to the max with punk/hardcore vocals. Killer!
((((9)))) Swaggerin’, kinda Dead Boys-ish, blazing guitar breaks.
(((((10))))) More Bay Area thrash gallop mixed up with super catchy & to the point lyrics & vocals.
((((11)))) Fast, punkabilly, easy to follow & plenty fun! H.G. Lewis would be proud!
((((12))))) Yet again thrashin’, rampagin’, punk&metalabilly fixation.
((((13)))) Straight-up psychobilly, shuffling tempos.
((((14)))) Revved up funny car going down the highway to hell with a case of Jim Beam.
