Banyan – Live at Perkins Palace

A live disc from instrumental improv rock/funk supergroup Banyan. All instrumentals, this disc has a lot more in common with early 70s Miles freakouts than anything these guys do on their own. That’s certainly not a bad thing.. Lots of funk, lots of freakout solos, how can you go wrong?

**1. Funky slashing Davisian fusion
*2. Fast disco groove
*3. Slower, scary groove
4. improv rock, guitar, gets mellow in the middle
5. Mellow, eastern feel, builds to frenzy
*6. Dreamy funk, nice guitar solos
7. Wacky circusy march groove
8. Short meandering improv
*9. Slow start, picks up to mysterious groove
10. Solo percussion jam
11. Spacey and slow with speedy funk interlude
**12. Balls out rock jam
