Chattery free improv with combinations of a variety of instruments (see back cover) for lots of different textures from track to track. Abstract stuff, a bit like a classical orchestra goofing off when the teacher's out. |
A few tracks break the mold with some composed beats, and they get into some nice grooves (4,7,16).
- Mysterious tribal clatter. Slow.
- Strong orchestra-tuning-up aggression. Opens with long tones.
- Hyper flute-trombone duet
- An actual beat! Nice mid/slow toe-tapper.
- Upbeat flute with percussive clatter
- Six minutes of quiet, then a busy groove
- Low-key coolness
- Slow. Lots of growly horns.
- Loose clatter
- Bass drone; high piping sax
- Eerie, breathy flute sounds
- Careful sax-trombone duet
- Eerie, cavernous
- Nice jungle groove with a steady beat. (2nd half gets weirder.)
- Quiet bells and tweaky flute
