Kakalla – The Seeds of Analog Rebellion

Boston-based group playing modern jazz with a klezmer influence, this time around they add some tasteful electronics to the mix. Most of the tracks start quietly and build slowly to a climactic frenzy. Definitely recommended.

*1. Soft buzzy start, then driving groove
*2. Lots of abrupt tempo changes
3. Subdued ballad, gets busy
*4. Slow with mysterious electronics
5. Slow and deliberate start, speeds up halfway through
**6. Fast klezmer
7. Weird electronics over a strong beat
8. Starts jazzy, descends into weird gloop
9. Stately, with dramatic trumpet
*10. Slow washes of sound to start, then an off-kilter groove
