Pretty, pleasant indie EP with some folk and rock. Tracks 1-4 feel like mixes of U2 and Coldplay, especially in the vox. These songs are all solid, but nothing jumped out at me except 5 – a long, gorgeous instrumental track. Besides 5, 2 is the most memorable, playable track, but again, none of it’s really bad.
FCC Clean
1. 3:46 – Down-tempo, starts with immediate, slightly disjointed harmonies; song has a familiar indie sound. Simple guitar line provides the backbone and keeps the song going. Not particularly compelling.
2. *2:29 – Mid-tempo, one guitar plays a typical indie line while the other gets spacey. Song is more cohesive and lyrics are better – prettily done.
3. 3:00 – Mid-tempo; vox more strained, scratchy (more folk-sounding).Guitars are more prominent throughout, competing with vox at times. Guitar takes on more character towards the end, with a U2-feel.
4. * 2:46 – Mid-tempo; vocal harmonies and simple guitar as per the norm. DOesn’t stand out on the EP but still quite pretty.
5. ** Down-tempo, 2 guitars share pretty folk/rock lines (not the spacey feel of the earlier tracks) – a musical showcase in a very simple, understated way. So pretty and soothing! Well-done crescendos and fluctuations in how much of a rock feel the guitars have. Great energy!
