James Finn – Opening the Gates
Solid downtown-style free bop in the manner of David Ware or Charles Gayle. CIMP regulars Dominic Duval and Whit Dickey lay down a solid foundation and Finn does some excellent soloing. Nice stuff.
1. Agitated rumbling groove
*2. Slow and majestic wailing
3. Flighty drums lead exploratory sax
4. Quiet, restrained
5. Wild sax wailing
6. Mysterious with a slow start, then light groove
*7. Crazy groove with nice solo
8. Cymbal backdrop to improv
