Odean Pope & Khan Jamal Quartet – Nothing Is Wrong

Veterans Pope and Jamal team up for an engaging quartet session featuring some interesting post-bop compositions with excellent soloing. The feel is pretty straight, with the rhythm section unobtrusively laying down a solid groove. Pope takes most of the soloing spotlight, and occasionally ventures a growl or shriek to keep things interesting.

*1. Fast laid back bounce, with good solos
**2. Jumpy head, then drums & bass builds to wild solo section
3. Meandering head with laid back solos
*4. Happy bounce
5. Relaxed head
*6. Coltrane sounding swing
7. Light swing
*8. Alternate take of 4, but a different feel – wilder solos
