Bassist Parker tries the piano-trio format. Fans of the ECM label, take note.

The result is calm and often soft, with plenty of open-air improvising but following traditional piano-trio rules. Pianist Eri Yamamoto provides a gentle touch in a mellow Keith Jarrett vein; many tracks have that same soulful stride to them.

(Post-script: In 2006, Yamamoto released a trio CD on Thirsty Ear titled "Cobalt Blue" ... similar stuff to "Luc's Lantern" but with Yamamoto as the leader. Nice stuff.)

1- Lushly aggressive, midtempo
2- Slow, gentle
3- A bit stormy
4- Happy shuffle, w/slightly edgy piano solo
5- Quick-footed
6- A pleasant stride, midtempo
7- Tangly swing, happy. Gets a bit wild.
8- Slow, gentle
9- Midtempo bluesy groove
10- Drifty miniature
