Blunt Object: Live in Tokyo

This Jazz Piano/bass/drums trio does not sound like anything else I've heard before, without being radical, in spite, to prove uniqueness. Lots of pop feeling to it (probably related to the fact that they do some covers for famous pop songs) but also some classical-romantic feeling in some tracks, a general messiness of the searching type, like you caught them in the middle of working on an art piece.
1. This rendition of Queen's 'we are the champions' begins like an Eric Satie's melancholic tune, goes into something more jazzy and ends like something more typical of the original song.
2. Sounds like music for a movie.
*3. A musical search. Begins with kind of quiet, relaxed contemplative search and accelerates to a faster more chaotic one.
*4. A more constructed piece, with touches of (maybe) a Rock opera.
5. A playful, kind of messy version of Debbie Harry's 'Heart of Glass', with a very nice Rock up-beat part at the end.
*6. A sweet theme.
*7. A long track. Begins with a beautiful quiet bass solo, to which the piano quietly joins. Further into the piece the piano starts a beautiful repetitious part that gets stormier and wilder until it resolves as something reminiscent of Chopin.
8. A more avant-garde track. Drums, bass, and a repetitious mechanical male voice.
