Your Imaginary Friend Reviewed 2005-04-27 | ||
Studio release by our favorite “gangsta rabbi”. Combines programmed drums with driving fuzz bass, insane flutes and really strange vocals with lyrical themes covering anti-Semitism to all kinds of crazy stuff. Either this guy is not all there or he does a great job of faking it. Totally lovable and adorable, like Wesley Willis. I’ve said it before, will say it again: this is like Wesley Willis crossed with Jethro Tull on a bad acid trip. Borderline “outsider music”, definitely genius in some parallel universe, alternate dimension. 1) upbeat, wacky 2) slower plodding type beat 3) bizarre cover of "tie me kangaroo down" song, yikes 4) midpaced rock, omnipresent flute 5) plod beat but this ones even more twisted 6) upbeat, about Viagra, hmmm 7) upbeat and crazy, hostile 8) electro beat feel, low fi 9) rockin drum beat, silliness 10) another winnner, driving 11) yankee doodle went to town marching feel, "this is vietnam w/o the jungle", anti-war anthem 12) midpaced, with interesting percussive sounds 13) upbeat 14) midpaced disco electro high hat beat 15) upbeat rockin, flute all over 16) midpaced swing, sorta dark industrial sounds/percussion, weird. |
