Kris Tiner & Mike Bagetta – There, Just As You Look For It
A duo featuring trumpet and acoustic “prepared” guitar improvising abstract soundscapes. The disc has a bit of a desolate, eerie, ghost town feel to the improvisation; Bagetta adds a bit of twang to his Derek Baileyisms and Tiner complements nicely with an open, airy sound. Very interesting.
*1. Plodding acoustic with almost mariachi trumpet
2. Frantic motion alternating with very quiet stretches
*3. Rolling movement, starts intense
4. Harp-like metallic plinking
*5. Stark improv
*6. Spare, airy improv
7. Subdued, with muted trumpet
*8. Starts softly, builds to wild attack
9. Garbled trumpet
*10. Relaxed, with a bit of swing
*11. Improv trumpet fanfare w/ wild slide guitar
*12. Quiet & restrained
