Orgasmic fem rock! Say hello to one of the best CDs of 2005. These ladies (ex Headcoatees, Stuck-Ups) hail from London, UK. This is their debut CD and it's on the same label that brought us the absolutely riveting Mr Airplane Man. Raw 60s garage-punk rock with seminal lady punk (Bikini Kill, Le Tigre) and post-punk (Slits, Kleenex/Liliput) influences. Explosive energy, fuzzed-up guitars, drilling rhythmic assaults and grooves. From bilingualism (Flemish/English) to yodeling, from rolling "r’s" to Kathleen Hanna-esque screaming, from dramatic intonations to improvisational vocal stunts, Kyra LaRubia's vocals make the A-lines the most exciting band since Mr Airplane Man, Electrelane and Le Tigre. Thanks to Billy Childish's production, this recording makes John Peel turn in his grave.
