The Light Brigade: Flip That Switch
Fun! Summery pop/rock, with JUST a hint of ‘50s flavor in the ol’ fashioned rock n’ roll sense—simple, upbeat, catchy, lotsa backup vox, feel-good chord progressions. Classic feel with a modern sound. Almost like a list of nods to the cliches: there’s the “baby come back!” song, the “I love rock n’ roll!” song, the “I got the wanderin’ blues” song . . . hooray!

*1. *(2:22) Happy clappy Buddy Holly-style tune
2. (6:05) Surfy-sounding story about a space-age store proprietor.
3. (7:32) dirtier guitars, more rockin’ out and wiggy solos.
4. (3:46) solid midtempo--“there’s just no getting over you!”
*5. *(3:01) ha! sez: I love rock n’ roll, though I also have modern eclectic tastes
6. (4:45) a 12-bar blues about roamin’ (words by Langston Hughes)
7. (3:13) darker and driven (with funny allusions: “Hungry eyes!” “Miles to go before I sleep!”)
8. (5:30) head-boppin! Catchy, “shinin’ like a superstar”
9. (5:03) groovy song, for driving down the highway—“yeah yeah yeah”
10. (7:42) dreamy midtempo, high guitar solos—Yes plays the prom?
