From folk music played on Andean pipes to sophisticated songs with a late night, café feel, this CD is a wonderful mix of sounds, and a fine tribute to the musical diversity of Bolivia. I enjoyed it all. Read the notes for more on music/instruments/performers. *1. Gorgeous, relaxed love song w/husky female vox. Delicious! *2. Conjunto folklorico for pipes/guitars/vox. Nice energy. 3. Relaxed & swaying w/warm female vox, good work from band. 4. Instrumental on the charango (small guitar). Mid/uptempo. 5. Warm & bright carnival dance. Midtempo, catchy. *6. Charango, high female vox, chorus. Midtempo, kinda cool. 7. Low key folklorico w/nice strings/male vocals. 8. Pipes/female voices. Lively & sweet. 9. Slow & elegant folk dance for strings/female vocalist. *10. Midtempo vox/guitar/flute then a brass band. Interesting. 11. Pipes/string/perc & female vocals. Midtempo folk dance. *12. Fun & lively conjunto folklorico w/soaring male vox. *13. Strings, whistling, then the band joins in. Uptempo. 14. Relaxed instrumental for strings/perc/pipes. Nice. 15. Very quiet beginning.
