Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2005-08-09
Experimental avante ambient/noise, electro, from a duo that is one-half Animal Collective member. Really tasteful mix of noise and ambience with a nod to sick electronica. More cool stuff to build bridges between difficult noise and accessible art.

1) splendid ambient dark droney echoey, builds nicely
2) fades in quietly slowly (~20 sec), prettier ambience for ~2 min when an electro beat kicks in 120bpm constant upon which more is built, then back and forth, evolving
3) great layers of noise and some vocalization, creepy and cool with a solid beat that subliminally appears and takes over, grows noisier and heavier on the beats, great!!
4) long (24min) slow to build masterpiece of long loops and drones of synth/electro generated tones, quite lush and mesmerizing
