San Francisco neo-folk band. Vetiver toured with Devendra Banhart, and Joanna Newsom is acknowledged in the liner. The one-sheet promises a new album late in 2005. This EP features two (three?) original songs and two live tracks. Very laid-back. Acoustic guitar dominates. Male vocals on all the tracks, which are short (3 especially). No FCCs. Reviewed 7/12/2005 by Shivaram. 1. "Bright", acoustic sound. Restrained. 2. Moodier, stronger beat, but a lot like #1. 3. (*) Mellow, rhythmic, more melodic than the other tracks. Cool instrumentation and background vocals. Very short. 4. Upbeat, almost a country-western feel. 5. Meandering, quiet live recording. Vocals are a little indistinct. | ||
