The Atomic Bitchwax doesn’t so much make “stoner rock” as much as they are attempting to make a new version of 1970’s classic rock (even though much the two are terminally intertwined). Lots of 74-’79 era hard/boogie rock influenced action here. Nice catchy riffs with some strong influences from The James Gang, Blue Cheer, KISS, Deep Purple (who they cover on #5) and Kyuss for modern inspiration. Not exactly “classic” but pretty good.
(((1))) Fast, James Gang & 70’s KISS & D. Purple on speed.
(((2))) Big ‘ol boogie groove + repetitive but nice vocals (FCC Fuck --0:39 & -3:25)
((((3)))) Slow twangy white boy blues rawk, cowbell, totally Joe Walsh vocals. Catchy as fuck.
(((4))) (FCC 0:33“shit”) ZZ Top and James Gang + Iommi on lead guitar.
(((5))) Mid-pace big beat hard rock thuddin’. Pretty solid Deep Purple cover from their legendary “In Rock” LP.
((((6)))) Fast turbo-charged, customized van groovin’ instrumental.
((7)) Sounds too derivative of their ‘Purple cover mixed with more James Gang.
((8)) Hand claps, if Sabbath sung with cheesy vocoders effect.
(((9))) Vocal harmonies, laid back riff, nice chorus, kinda funky & groovin’.
((10)) Sci-fi robot intro. So-so boogie space fuzz bordering on psych.
