Total early 80’s synth driven new wave with deep vocals. These vocals become a three headed monster of Ric Ocasek, Gary Numan and Robert Smith. Throw in a little bit of early (?) Depeche Mode & New Order and viola - Midnight Serenade! Even the vocoders sound kinda old. Pure 1979-81 new wave futurism by way of sheer appreciation
not hipster half-asses. Lots of fun!
(((1))) Annoying phone ringing intro. Driving, synthy Gary Numan worship. Catchy as hell synth bits, good vocals.
((((2)))) Bassy, funky, sorta Joy Division meets the Cars in the Galleria mall. Creepy but very cool.
((((3)))) Space-rock meets new wave. Vocodoers & RD-2D effects gallore. So, how can this NOT be Ric Ocasek or Robert Smith singing?!?
(((4))) Instrumental, bass-heavy with modern techno beats/synths kinda like Trans Am or Crime In Choir sans the prog.
(5) Too disco wave-o crossed with Haircut 100! Make it stop!
((((6)))) Instrumental with big Peter Hook-like bass, laser blasts of synths. Goblin crossed with New Order?!?
((((7)))) (FCC "Cunts" at - 1:09 remaining) Solid dancey beat, mellancholly yet obsessive vocals Gary Numan jams with Falco? Weird & cheesy but fun as hell!
