Brutal yet scholarly "Egyptologist death metal". This maintains the consistency & diversity they’ve had on their last two releases. Nile doesn’t release ‘concept records’ per se. They are a band that fuses deep musical/historical/mythological themes. These themes turn into seriously over the top, intense drums & riffing, and those vocals, oh...man, soo loowww & sooo wicked! The best death metal band of the current age, bar none.
((((1)))) Beautiful MIDI guitar emulation of a bouzouki.
(((((2))))) By Osiris! Prepare to be crushed! ULTRA loud riffing, severly fast & deep, death metal!
((((3)))) Morbid Angel-styled classic USDM simple vs. complex riffing: triplets vs. quadtuplet notes. A little nod to Slayer, too.
(((((4))))) Monster epic, acoustic intro, devasting mid-paced heaviness, pinch harmonics that sound good(!) & killer groove.
((((5)))) A totally blast-beat, fretboard slaying structured clinic.
((((6)))) Off-kilter, zig-zagging riffs, a little Decide in the vox but mostly original otherwise..
((((((7)))))) Beautifully intense, classic death metal drumming & riffing. Simple & direct - Total Headbangin’Valhalla !
((((8)))) Incredibly dark interlude with French horns and nasty reptile vocals - as in actual reptiles: monitors and crocodiles.
(((((9))))) Monster build up like a fuckin’ Himalyian mountain of crushing, fast to mid-paced death metal
(((((10))))) Horrific bells, doomy tempo, cymbal crashes, thudding build ups, crazy Azagothian soloing. Best vocals on the album.
