Beat-heavy hip-hop experimentation vs. Redwood City “Dankstercore”. Solid release showing once again the talent and diversity that’s in the Peninsula ‘burg. 33 RPM!
D-STYLES (Side A)
((((1)))) Pretty simple but big, bassy beat mixed with insane amounts of scratching and a loop of “I’ll take ya brain to a’nutha di-mension”.
((((2)))) MC that sounds kinda like Easy-E, 4 different scratch solos – making for some nice varation and a bit more funky overall.
(((3))) Lo-fi electronic beat, verrry repetitive, ends with a locked groove thingy.
GO LIKE THIS (Side B)
((((1)))) Psych/sludge-core instrumental. Like Chrome smokin’ Redwood-styled dank?
(2) TOO MANY FCCs-AVOID!
((((3)))) Crazy beat, old hardcore meets power-violence. All with a GREAT heavy guitar sound.
(((((4))))) WTF? Megadeth sample into a ripping “typical” Redwood blast of grind, death metal and ultra-core. TONS of great riffs! (FCC “shit” sung once, “fucking” audible only once)
(((5))) (FCC “shit” sung twice, “fuck” sung/said twice) Starts with a movie sample re: religion. Insanely awesome fast uh…power-violence-boogie-core-sludge-grind? Perfect theme song. Yeah!
((((6))) (FCC “fuckin” said in the first 30-40 secs and said twice near the end), Big, heavy groove and the doods smokin’ dank & shooting the shit doin’ shout outs.
(((((7))))) Blasting, ur-power-violence ‘ala No Comment, Neanderathal. Perfect guitar tone. Kick ass!
