Yes!!! Brand new EP, straight from David LeBleu himself!

This EP re-edits two masterpieces from the full length (Hindsight Sunglasses, which hit A-File in the winter) and adds a few remixes, as well as new material.

Textual crafts shimmering glitch-hop electronica with post-rock sensibilities (David LeBleu is in the excellent post-rock group The Mercury Program). Imagine combining Arovane, Prefuse 73, and Album Leaf, then adding an extra heaping of humanity. More than the full-length, this EP embraces old-school R&B influences, in absolutely fascinating ways (including some vocals textures). Surprisingly soulful stuff!! Perfect music for summer evenings.

I’ve been reviewing a lot of great stuff recently, but this is my current favorite.
Essential listening for everyone! Highest recommendations!

***1. Slow, quiet start. Then gorgeous head-nodding groove with a familiar R&B aesthetic. Comforting, soothing stuff. I love it! (3:48)
2. Three separate parts. First two parts are R&B-ish with silly electronics. First part has vocals. Both parts are kinda porn soundtrack-ish. Then the third part is more ethereal and electronic. (7:13):
**3. Soothing piano, then soaring & shimmering chime melody, underlying ambience, and dope head-nodding beat. This time around, LeBleu adds soulful vocal texture. Lovely! (4:08)
*4. Chopped up mix of Track 3, with a Japanese(?) chiming aesthetic. (2:02)
*5. Wistful R&B background vocals over Boards of Canada-ish electronics and quiet field recording. No beat. (2:01)
**6. Sexy, super old-school R&B aesthetic over beautiful melodies, background vocals, and ambience. Perfect music for chillin’. (3:30)
***7. Dirty, hard-hitting hip-hop beat, sparkling layers of chimes and bass. Muddled field recordings at beginning and end. TIGHT!! (3:23)
8. Cut-up, buzzing bass-heavy remix of Track 7. (4:45)
*9. R&B aesthetics over beepy glitch-hop beat, with sultry female vocals (and backup). Beautiful. (5:20)
