Outlandish: Bread & Barrels of Water (RCA/BMG) Reviewed by: Beezher 08-29-2005 Multi-cultural, multi-lingual Hip Hop beats, melodies and lyrics, deep, smooooth. Yes! Diverse in sound, flow, and origin, Outlandish bang out a deep and hard-hitting Hip Hop fusion of Arabic, Latin, and creative instrumentation. Based in Denmark, this male trio is comprised of a collective of individuals; Isam Bachiri (Moroccan), Lenny Martinez (Honduran), Waqas Qadri (Pakastanian). They have a smooth sound, with beautiful voices and interesting sound with introspective lyrics –and at times sad stories about people (particularly women) that they know/love. Listen to it, learn it, feel it. Smooooth, yet… Not FCC Clean, watch out for tracks: Tk3 “fuck (x2)”, Tk6 “fuck,” ”shit”, Tk10” muthafuckin”, Tk12” damn” (multiple times)”, shit”, Tk13”ass.” Beezher’s pics: 2, 4, 9, 10, 13 1. (3:22): intro – nice and chill flute melody, simple beat, chill deep vocals 2. (4:56): pump it, old skool Cuban singing intro, tight beat and smooth guitars, catchy hook, ironic lyrics 3. (3:33): cute sample of a kid singing in Hindi, thick beat with a string instrument, nice 4. (3:56): sad tone, light and sweet guitar melody, smoothly flowing harmonic chorus 5. (4:36): slow and soft version of Khaled’s hit sung in English, nice love song 6. (4:29): smooth n’ simple beat, heavy Flamenco-ish guitar, violent lyrical content 7. (1:03): interlude – male talking… 8. (4:22): slow, love song ,soft guitars, not too complex, cute 9. (4:18): short talking intro, heavy bass beat, nice melody, deep lyrical content about a woman who resists an arranged marriage, tight chorus 10. (5:26): slow Arabic beat/ beautiful singing melody in background/chorus/end, chill 11. (4:10): reflective singing/rapping intro, mellow smooth singing/ rapping, violin, piano 12. (3:02): electro clubbanger beat, mystical, nice percussive bits, 13. (3:49): bumpin bass, fun vocal noises, smooth Arabic melody (strings/synth?), nice hook 14.
