Mostly composed electroacoustic music but some of this is completely computer generated. Some tracks use field recordings or other outdoors and natural sounds, some compositions model all their computer generated sounds and some are classic electoacoustic combination of instruments computer with computer-generated sounds. It mostly sounds very academic and process seems to overtake the results in a few cases but it mostly survives academia.
**1. The title is accurate. It sounds like a rainstorm.
2. Quiet with some sounds of horse feet and the Doppler efect.
**3. Kids talking and train sounds.
4. Sounds of waves and kids playing in the distance.
5. Darker, with some sounds of crumpling paper or fire mixed with computer sounds.
6. Live triggered computer sounds with acoustic instruments in particular a flute. Mostly very quiet but with bursts of loud noise.
7. Sort of an odd combination. All the sounds on this track are generated with computer models yet it is a piece for tape? In the end it’s got lots of very quiet moments with bursts of computer sounding electronics. A few sounds, sound a bit organic.
8. Classic electroacoustic sounds with lots of acoustic instruments playing a quick paced, horn and brass heavy sound to go along with some computer generated sounds. The composer teaches at San Jose State.
9. Starts with what sounds like quiet strings but sounds like there is an ensemble of acoustic instruments of some type. The computer generated sounds are very light hearted and almost silly.
OK stuff. -mph
