Stormy, cinematic, piano-based jazz-rock instrumentals. No guitar--just piano, drums, and bass plus a touch of electronic keyboards. Krautrock and French pop influenced. Debut EP by this SF band that formed in 2003. Most songs fade. FCC clean. Start with 4, 5.

1. Starts with whispered “1, 2, 3,” then quote & theme from (French band) Air. Dark & heavy, then becomes more rhythmic and intense. Ends back where it started. Fades. 3 secs of sllence at end.
2. Heavy & slower & stormy. Loud bass. Sorta Bavarian/theatrical. Gets a bit dubby in the middle.
3. Hypnotic and driving... lots of gray with splashes of lightning and thunder. Solo bass figure in middle. Indecipherable male vocal samples during final minute. Ends suddenly, and then a few secs of silence.
==> 4. Trip-hoppy with keyboards instead of piano. Mellow and sad. And gray. A bit reminiscent of some early Genesis instrumentals. Quiet organ for final minute. Very slow fade, some silence at end.
==> 5. Starts with radio noise and samples. Heavy rhythm, suspended feel. Includes false ending at -3:43. More radio samples. Gets fast & high energy before quieting & slowing for end. Ends with religious radio samples & noise.
