Trio X – The Sugar Hill Suite

Nice mix of free and modern bop from some CIMP regulars. These guys have been playing around together for a long time, and the quality of communication in the music is impressive. Great stuff.

1. Slow opening invocation
*2. Understated funky jam
*3. Ballad with a very quiet opening
*4. Bouncy swing
5. Slow start leads to drum solo
6. Fast drums with squirrely tenor fades to quiet ending
*7. Relaxed bluesy Monkish swing
*8. Mournful sax-led gospel blues
