French-Swiss band Magma create something called “Zeuhl” which mixes up prog, classical, jazz and bits of opera/choral singing. Weird, wild & wonderful sounds – just give it time. K.A. or “Kohntarkosz Anteria” is their 17th studio album. They're led by drummer Christian Vander and they sing in a made up language called Kobaian. Kobaian according to the story, is a language sung by the people who fled a dystopian earth in order to form the new world called Kobaia. ((((1)))) Fast, scattered, multi-voiced choral with jazzy bits & “space opera” parts. (((((2))))) Like a Kobaian off-Broadway show + loose jazzy guitars & tons of twists. ((((3)))) Floaty, ethereal Zeuhlish soul (?), jazz & prog. Christian Vander’s drumming is top notch here. Allëhlüïa! (Hallellulia!) Is sung about 100 times |
