Jenny Scheinman – 12 Songs

Formerly local violinist Scheinman returns with a beautifully restrained, delicately emotional album. The focus is on creating a mood rather than improvisation. Bill Frisell lends his twang along with the lush orchestration of the rest of the septet.
*1. Slow and defiant
2. Searching mood
*3. Bouncy march
4. Pretty ballad
5. Serene, expectant mood, like early morning on the water
**6. Hoedown builds from a jumbled start
**7. Antique Jewish bounce with nice solos
*8. Light island melody
*9. Delicate waltz
10. Drawn out
*11. Tender ballad with a hint of Aylerish Americana
*12. Country twang
