Album: Rio Baile Funk: Favela Booty Beats [coll]
Reviewed by Beezher: 10/03/05
Shake sumthin, but don't hurt nuthin, fun hip-hop, club hopping, booty beats from the Favelas of Rio, Brazil. Rio Baile Funk is really a collection of different booty beats, but it actually sounds like it could have been one long DJ mix, during one long sultry night in Brazil. The beats seem to center on a similar rhythmic pattern, but every song has slightly different mixes, breaks and vocal deliveries. The call-and-response/repeat techniques (between MC and audience) appear in abundance throughout. I'd like to wild out to this album and shake the booty my mama gave me. Run it.
