A blend of straight jazz and dance/electronica, going for a soaring atmosphere throughout. The acoustic jazz elements are decent, with crisp playing and some nicely bustling solos -- although some tracks fall into the trite side of fusion and even border on smooth jazz (especially track 1 -- don't start there). There's a tendancy toward a loungy/mellow sound, even at fast tempos. Background is packed with trendy electronica percussion.

Peacock is a Christian pianist/songster -- supposedly with credentials for wide experimentation in his music -- dipping into jazz for the first time, with a well credentialed studio army (Joey Baron, Victor Wooton, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ralph Alessi, Roger Smith from Tower of Power, etc.) Of local interest, Gino Robair apparently drums on track 6, and Myles Boisen added some guitar touches to 2,4,8,9.

Peacock himself does a nice turn especially on acoustic piano, where he shows he really does have the chops for this stuff.

1- Slow tempo, cheesy sax solo. Avoidable.
2- Mellow/fast swirl with a nice trumpet solo and some unfortunate synths
3- Tangly piano solo
4- Swirly jumble, mid/fast, with loungy dance/electronica and occasional stabs of bebop jazz lines. Decent guitar solo, nicely knotty sax solo.
5- Piano solo
6- Heavy beat, slower tempo. Lots of trumpet and guitar
7- Mid/fast, with calming horn lines and a sense of funk. B-3 solo.
8- Fast electronic swirl; cheesy sax & guitar solos
9- Loping minor-key, some decent solos
